Year 10 Foundation Maths GCSE Support

Starting September 2026

Weekdays after school

Small online maths groups designed for students aiming for a Grade 4/5 in foundation GCSE Maths who need confidence, structure, and consistent support during Year 10.

Why Year 10 Matters

Year 10 is an important year for GCSE Maths.

It’s where students begin building the knowledge, confidence, and exam skills needed for Year 11 and their final GCSE exams.

For students who struggle with confidence or have gaps in understanding, consistent support during Year 10 can make a huge difference before exam pressure increases.

About Me

I’m a maths tutor and former secondary maths teacher specialising in helping Foundation GCSE Maths students build confidence and improve consistency.

My lessons are designed to create a calm, supportive environment where students can strengthen core skills and work towards a Grade 4/5 through structured guidance, regular feedback, and consistent practice.

I hold an up-to-date enhanced DBS.

Who These Groups Are For

These groups are designed for students moving into Year 10 who are currently working around grades 2–4 in Foundation GCSE Maths and would benefit from smaller-group support and confidence-focused teaching.

How it works

  • One key topic focus each week

  • Live online lessons via Zoom

  • Classes held weekdays after school

  • Printable resource sent before class

  • Students can participate via chat and microphone

  • Session recordings available for review or catch-up

  • Homework provided after each lesson with video answers

  • Termly parent/student progress meeting

  • Termly exam paper - marked and returned with a personalised study plan

Investment

The first session is booked individually as a trial session at £30.

Following this, classes are paid for in 4-class blocks in advance (£120 per block).

Free 20 minute discovery call

Before joining the groups, parents and students are invited to book a short online discovery call with myself via Zoom/phone call.

During the call:

  • I will work with students to complete a short 10-minute maths activity so I can get a better understanding of their current confidence level and how I can best support them (please note this is for Zoom calls only)

  • parents can ask questions

  • we discuss current confidence level and whether the group would be a good fit

There is no commitment or payment required at this stage.
